Ethically sourcing our cacao beans direct from Ghana, a nation on West Africa’s Gulf of Guinea, which is known for diverse wildlife, old forts, secluded beaches, and its vast Cacao forests. We could stop right there and it would be amazing but to top it off we have sprinkled in exotic spices such as roasted chicory root, ginger bits, cloves, cardamom, cinnamon, and star anise. It all gives it a gentle chocolatey flavour with a hint of well-balanced spice. This chai has a very full mouthfeel due to the cocoa butter that infuses into the water and a very dark cup that gives more sophistication than your classic hot chocolate or chai tea.
Its brownish orange liquor eminates a heady aroma of chocolate and cinnamon. And a sip will take your taste buds on a flavour journey - from dark chocolate to a strong muscatel one. And the best part is, you can enjoy this tea any time of the day.
We add a dash of cinnamon, cardamom, and cloves for that splash of flavour that turns tea time into me time. From our mix, it becomes your journey.
Brew:
- 1 heaped teaspoon of tea per cup of water
- Steep at 100°c for 5-7 minutes; the gentle spices infuse over time
- Perfect to drink as it is, if you prefer you can sweeten it with honey or for a more traditional chai you can brew in milk on the stove or add a splash to your tea.
We have had incredible results infusing this tea into milk or cream for an ultra luxurious brew for desserts, mocktails or a hot chocolate-like experience.
